External Hard Drives! External Hard Drives are everywhere these days. They are essential for every college student to own one and good for anyone who needs to back up all of their data at one time.
Western Digital, a very famous brand that makes external hard drives has recently come under fire for their hard drives for Mac Users. Apple’s newest operating system, OSX Mavericks, has recently had issues with compatibility for these hard drives. Once adding data or removing data from these drives, users have been reporting issues with the drives actually deleting random data off of it. This not only makes these drives less secure, it makes them extremely prone to data loss. You are pretty much purchasing a paper weight from Western Digital. I personally do not believe that this is going to be a permanent issue. I own many WD products from flash drives to hard drives to network devices. I am a big fan of their products. The problem here is that there are compatibility issues and Apple probably changed some setting or data entry to not accept the new hard drives.
I think that losing data is possibly one of the worst things that can possibly happen. There is nothing more frustrating than losing all of your information after you made a conscious effort to back up all of your stuff. I am not a fan of data loss and wouldn’t wish it upon anybody. Well, there is my rant for today. I’m done for now and will post more information soon. Till next time.
